Stick Situation! Dog Eat Doug Comic Captures the Hilarious Struggle Between Pups and Fire Pits
Thankfully we have zero fire pit related incidents. At least when the pit is lit.

Always funny when Sophie and Doug debate aliens and UFOs. I mined this idea for the upcoming graphic novels and have an entire alien abduction chapter.
Ever feel like your pup is giving you the runaround (or the sprinkle-around) when it comes to potty training? Fear not, fellow pet parent! While mishaps like Sophie's rainy-day rebellion in today's Dog Eat Doug comic might happen, there are ways to navigate the potty training journey with a little more ease. Here are 3 quick tips to get you and your furry friend on the path to potty-perfect success:
1. Consistency is Key: Set a consistent schedule for potty breaks, taking your pup out frequently – especially after meals, playtime, and naps. Sticking to a routine helps them learn to anticipate and control their bathroom needs.
2. Reward the Good Stuff: When your pup uses the potty outside, celebrate like they just won the doggy Olympics! Positive reinforcement with treats, praise, and excited pats will encourage them to repeat the desired behavior.
3. Accidents Happen (But Don't Dwell): Don't punish your pup for accidents. They're still learning! Clean up the mess thoroughly (with an enzyme cleaner to remove any lingering odors) and calmly take them outside to show them the right spot.
Remember, patience and positive reinforcement are your best friends during potty training. With a consistent approach and a dash of humor, you'll be celebrating those successful potty breaks in no time!
Anyone else have impatient dogs?
Sophie only loved to sit on the furniture if we were on it.
Obviously I’m the one with the Doctor Who obsession. To be fair, Sophie was always on the couch next to me when I watched. I also had a Tardis cookie jar for dog treats. And yes, it makes “the noise” every time you open it.
Every parent knows this wish.
I have to be honest, I superimposed my doughnut obsession on Sophie. She never had a doughnut. However, her cheese addiction was real.
One of the true joys of puppies is that they will fall asleep anywhere at anytime.
Not sure how this one didn’t turn into an Alice in Wonderland comic. It’s always fun to have Sophie and Doug interpret grown up concepts.
Nothing better than a house full of puppies making trouble. They literally run till they pass out. Our Gunnar was the only foster I’ve ever encountered that never went through any of the normal puppy phases. To be honest, I thought something was wrong with him. Now that he’s part of the famly, we know he just marches to his own drummer…or whatever strange instrument that plays in his head.
I’m pretty sure I saw something like this on America’s Funniest Home Videos back in the day.
I don’t have any window lickers but I have a house full of cabinet lickers.
Techinaclly Sophie never got all the way in the highchair with my son. She came pretty close though.
We don’t do drive throughs often, and usually not when all three dogs are in the car. But back in the day, Sophie got quite a bit of freebies.
Probably the most accurate Sophie-ism.
One thing I love about foster dogs, especially the young ones, is how smart they are without knowing how smart they are.
This was my Sophie in a nutshell.
I try to avoid tropes in my comics, but this is one I go back to often. Doug and Sophie laying in the grass and pondering life.
Every one that’s had kids still has a few songs laser printed into their brain. I’m thankful we missed the Baby Shark craze.
